Halloween

What a treat Halloween was even though Alex was a little under the weather. We had plans to go trick or treating to a few houses new by, then to go hang out with friends and their little ones. Unfortunately Alex came down with a bad cold so we stayed home and handed out candy and dressed Alex in his costume. He loved to see all the children come to the door in their costumes. He got such a kick out of it! Here are a few photos of Alex in his costume!

Here we go again....

I say I am going to be good about keeping up with this blog, and POOF, I forget all about it. It's hard to do so when you are chasing after a 1 year old. Yup that's right. A 1 year old. Last month, 10/9 Alex turned 1. So I am going to start randomly throwing a ton of pics and info at you all at once. Get prepared for a ton of things that has happened lately!
Alex Loves Leaves

Alex's 1st Birthday

This first year has been such an amazing learning experience. Rob and I have learned so much. We've learned a new type of love. We've learned so much about children. I've learned that I was put on this planet to be a Mother. I love it! I can't wait to do it again!

What's happening with Rob/Bobby whatever you want to call him?

He is still working for Cardiology Consultant of Philadelphia doing cardiac monitoring. Luckily he has moved a tad closer than he was before. Before he was working in Norristown, Pa and has since moved to Lankenau Hospital which is a bit closer. I'll put it this way, he had to go to exit 17 on the Blue Route, now he goes to exit 5. The Blue Route which is the most horrible road known to man in Pennsylvania! Tiger Junior, as I call him, did a lot of golfing this summer, He had gotten clubs last summer for his 30th birthday and put them to good use this summer. Since buying the house he has been learning a lot about how to do things around the house and renovating and getting good at handywork! We watch a lot of HGTV! Of course now that it is September the most important part of his year is coming up....FOOTBALL. Everyone who knows him knows that he lives for it. I will probably not be conversing with him or atleast if I do he will not hear half of what I'm saying until February. ;) He's doing a great job at being a dad and Alex just adores him!

What's happening with Jami?

Well, besides chasing around an 11 month old? Not too much! I'm still working as a Registered Nurse for the State of Delaware at Governor Bacon Health Care Center in Delaware City on the 7 am- 3pm shift. I'm scouting around for a new job to see what I can find. I am eager to find a job that would allow me to work 3 nights a week from 7pm-7a so I can be home with Alex. That is my main goal. That would also save us a great deal on daycare! I am so ready to have another child but until the economy gets better and I find this dream job that won't be happening! I thoroughly enjoy being a Mom and think that's why I was put on this earth. It is the most rewarding thing EVER. I thought being a nurse was going to be great that people would love me helping them....was I wrong! This child gives me all the joy I could ever need.

We've been in the house now almost 6 months and are slowly working on getting it to what we want. We did a lot of renovating this summer thanks to Mr. Obama and his tax credit! I'll post some pics in another post. Other than that, I just chase after my ever so fast infant and that's about it with me!

It's been too long...

I've been a horrible blogger. Almost 2 months since my last blog. So much has happened. I guess Alex keeps me so busy I havebn't been keeping this up to date so PLEASE forgive me. I will say I am pretty good about posting photos on facebook. It is much easier to throw some photos on there than it is on here. So sit back, grab some popcorn and get ready for blogging madness!

Sesame Place

We went to Sesame Place July 2nd. I knew Alex wasn't going to be able to do much, but I knew that he would enjoy looking at everything. He loves watching people (can't imagine where he gets that from!) We went with Rob's parents, Julie, Jamie and Aidan. Alex did go on the merry-go-round and enjoyed every minute of it. This not being a surprise, since he has always liked movement since he was born. I think that I will take him back up there when he is around 3-4 years old. Here are some photos from the day:

Lunch with a buddy!

Alex and I took a trip down to Dover a few weeks ago to have lunch with an old classmate of mine, Leslie. We went to nursing school together. This was Leslie and Alex's first time meeting. Leslie has been so generous to Alex; sending him packages, constantly asking about him, etc. I felt horrible that this was the first time, age 8 months that she finally got to meet him. I always agreed with Leslie when we were in school when she would say that she wanted to be a Pediatric Nurse. She is so great with children. You could tell how much fun she had playing with Alex, and he just adored her! We had a great lunch and I was so happy that Leslie finally got to meet my little man!

Crawling and teething

My poor little man has been attempting to crawl for what feels like an eternity now. He has been up on those fat little knees rocking for the longest time. He would just scoot himself around on his tummy or roll wherever he needed to be. Last week he got the hang of it! He is a fast little bugger I must say! So, now I am in a frantic panic to baby proof everything! I know I've had plenty of time, but there's a lot you gotta do!

Alex's first tooth arrived! It was painstaking to come to that point, but after it broke through the gum, he was so relieved. Well, unfortunately we are in the middle of getting another one. He has been so miserable lately which is not like my guy. I just wish they would hurry up and come in. It's so pitiful to see him in pain. And, the weirdo that he is, hates his teething things cold! If I can get a good pic of him with his one little tooth on the bottom I will post it, but he hides it with his tongue all the time!

Swimming!

Aunt Julie, Uncle Jamie and Aidan came for a visit Memorial Day weekend. They brought Alex a pool! He was so stinking adorable in the pool. The water was a little cold, so everytime he splashed himself he sorta scared himself! It was so cute to watch. He loved looking up at Aidan and watching what he was doing. I think they both had so much fun. Here are a few photos from that day.

We're Famous!

Check us out! We went to a rally down in Dover protesting Governor Markell's budget proposal to give the already less paid state employees a pay cut. Well, Mr. Alex and I are famous! We were photographed a few times and even recorded for the Dover/Salisbury news! We had a lot of fun and it was very emotional to see just how many people this affects. I hope Mr. Markell hears our message!

Florida Fun!!!

This post is LONG overdue. Alex and I went to Florida from 4/15-4/21 to visit Taya and Rhese. We had such a blast!

Day 1: Alex was the best little boy on that plane. We sat all the way in the back with the other Mommies and kids. There was a 10 wk old baby on the plane with us. She was just as good as little man, slept and ate! He drank a bottle as we were taking off and I didn't see his eyes open again until I woke him up to give him a bottle for our decent. He was smiling from ear to ear, absolutely amazing how happy he is! We are very lucky. Here is my little traveler in the airport before we boarded....
After Taya picked us up from the airport, we went to see her Mom at work, then went to Taya's house so the babies could eat lunch and nap. When they woke up it was playtime! Poor Alex was in the exersaucer since little Miss Rhese is a crawling maniac and pretty much used him as her step ladder! :)

Hey....you're little like me...
Day 2: Poor babies must've had so much excitement Wednesday that they were so sleepy and cranky on Thursday. They both napped in opposite schedules which made it impossible for us to do anything. We pretty much hung around the house; that night we met Nicole, her mom and her sister at a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Alex of course, was asleep in the restaurant at 7 on the dot (his bedtime every night). This is what we found when we opened the doors to the car when we got home:

Day 3: What a beautiful day it was. The weather was fantastic. in the 80's with a nice breeze. We decided to take the babies to the zoo. Alex, fell asleep. (Big surprise) Party girl Rhese loved every minute of it. I think Alex really didn't care for the animals so much as being pushed in the stroller!
Can you see the GINORMOUS iguana behind him?

In front of the fountains

The two love birds!

Day4: We had a BBQ at Taya's Mom's house. A few friend of ours came over. It was a blast to see Alex in the pool. He definitely loved it. It was a little hard for him though as he wasn't sitting up too great at the time (now he sits really good). But, I definitely see us getting a baby pool this summer!

Day5: Taya's Mom had decided to cook us a most delicious dinner on Sunday of Roast Beef with all the fixings. So Taya and I decided to just hang by the pool with the babies that day again. This time, they went into the big pool. Alex wasn't too sure at first, but they he started to love it. The LaCasse family was as welcoming as they always are. They loved my little guy like he was one of their own. Taya's Mom has always been like that with me growing up.

Day 6: We really didn't do too much this day but go to lunch and babies r us. That night we met Nicole at Panama Hatties (my favorite place to go when I'm down there) for dinner. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the view of the intracoastal and the boats passing by. We had a great time!!

Day 7: We left. Plane ride home was o.k. My poor lil man was teething really bad. Luckily the stewardess let me in the back to walk around with him and bounce him back to happiness! The little 10 wk baby girl was on our plane ride home too!All in all we had a great trip. We are hoping that Taya and Rhese will come up here this summer so we can take them to the shore!!

Leaving on a Jet Plane.....

Tomorrow is our big flight to Florida. God Bless those people on the plane. I wish them all the luck. Hopefully Alex won't hate it too much. I will post tons of pictures when I get back. And I plan to post something about the new house with some photos too!

Easter

Alex enjoyed his first Easter from what I could tell. He loves getting attention. I had to work, but afterwards I met Rob and Alex at Aunt C.J. & Uncle Roy's house for dinner. Of course Alex was all decked out in his best. He was having so much fun just rolling around and playing with his toys while we were there. The Easter Bunny did not visit this year since he is too small, but the Bunny stopped by to see Rob like it has for the last 9 years.

Always so happy and smiling

6 Months!

Yesterday Alex turned 6 months old! WOW! Time has really flown by! Today was his 6 month check up. He is 18 lb 6 oz. 27 1/2 inches long. Dr. Healy said he is doing great. Growing very well. He cried a bit more with his shots today. In fact, I think Rob took it worse. He hasn't seen him get shots before. I think it was a bit traumatizing. This Wednesday we leave for Florida for a week!! I can't wait to see him in the pool and how he likes it.

Ready for Florida

So much for the first day of Spring...HA! It was freezing today. Compared to the lovely 60's we've been having, the 40's felt very chilly. Alex and I are so ready for our trip to Florida to the warm weather. I can't wait to see how he reacts to the pool. As you can see below he already has his old man hat and his Palm Beach shirt!

" you and that camera Mom, really..."
"hey lemme try that thing out....."

St. Patty's Parade

Saturday Rob, Alex and I went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Wilmington. We didn't see too much of the parade as we were visiting with our friends that were hanging out behind St. Pat's Church. Alex did look like a cutie pie though. It was a little bit too cold we think b/c he started getting antsy and fussy so we left after about 2 hours. Here are some photos b/c of course you know I took a ton!

My Sweet Potato

Alex started vegetables this week. So far he LOVES sweet potatoes, probably b/c he is so sweet! However, the green beans seem to be a non-favorite. We are planning to attempt carrots this weekend. He cracks me up when he eats because he makes all these grunting noises like he has never eaten before. Here are a few photos of him eating
